Bandage healing (for both players and pets) is supposed to be fully functional from 2 tiles away (this was part of the healing tweaks that were done in Pub 21), however, even though you can initiate the healing process from a distance of 2 tiles, if the target is still at that range on completion of healing, nothing will happen. So, until we can get this fixed, you'll need to stay close to your human and animal companions if you wish to heal them with bandages.
