また略称は4文字に制限が緩和される事となるが略称も命名規約に遵守せねばならないし、単語として意味の通るものであってもならないようだ。

削除されません。しかしながら、最早ギルドインターフェイスにアクセスする事はできなくなるでしょう。またギルドストーンは現状の表記が残される事となります。

したがって4文字略語を持つ本当に古いギルドだけでなく、誰でも4文字略語を使用してギルド設立ができるようになるでしょう。

歴史上ギルド略称が4文字制限だった時期（98年）もあるようです。
もちろん、4文字のギルド略称はウルティマ オンラインの命名規約に遵守したものでなくてはなりませんし、4文字単語は許可されません。

Question: Will Current Guild Abbreviations and Names be grandfathered or no?
Wilki_EA: Yes. On top of that, we've changed the new Guild design to allow:
- 40 character guild names (same as now)
- special characters (same as now)
- 4 character abbreviations
So, not only will the really old guilds that have 4 char abbreviations stay the same, but everyone will be able to start a new guild with a 4 char abbreviation.
Of course, with 4 letter guild abbreviations, the standard UO naming policy will be in full effect... none of *those* 4 letter words will be allowed ;-)
