米国時間6月30日（木）にポートランドにおいてタウンホールミーティングが開催されました。
ポートランドへお越し下さり、我々に「宝珠の守人」に関して話してくれたEA社に感謝したい。タウンホールミーティングでは参加者全員にベータテスト用の新クライアントが提供され、皆が非常に興奮していた。ベータテストへの参加を望む皆さんに私は本当に素晴らしい報告がある。来週木曜にベータテストが皆さんに開放されるというのだ。したがって新クライアントを手に入れるのに長らく待つ必要はなくなるだろう。
Aaron "The Marketing Guy"がイベントでは皆にウルティマ オンラインのポスターも提供してくれたのだが、我々は読者の皆さんの為にも3枚のポスターを入手したよ。ポスターを得たい方は是非この投稿へ返信して欲しい。7月15日に返信して下さった方々の中から3名を選出します。我々はアカウント登録されてある電子メールアドレスを利用して選出者と連絡を取ります。これは全世界の皆さんに開放されており、我々は喜んで全世界へ配送致します。皆さんはポスターが好きだと返信してもいいし、新しい拡張版について意見を述べてもいいし、あるいはどのような内容でも構いません。
我々は今回のタウンホールミーティングで依然未公開の内容を余り多くを知るには至りませんでしたが、冒険に赴く数多くの場所がある事が理解できました。今回追加されるのは単なる通常のダンジョンとは異なっています。木々を登っていくかのような新しい地が幾つか用意されていますし、独りでは返り討ちになるであろう強力なモンスターもいます。
調教師の皆さんは調教可能な数多くの新しい動物の登場に興味を抱いているはずだが、今回は異なる色の新騎乗生物を入手する方法が明らかにされたし、幾つかのモンスターを例示してどのような連携が要求されるのか、その中で調教師にはどのような役割が要求されるのかが話された。調教師に要求される事柄が用意されることは大変素晴らしいことだね。
新クエストシステムはかなり良いものに仕上がっていた。新呪文には購入で得る事はできないものもあり、クエストを達成することによってのみ得られるそうだ。
今回のイベントでは新拡張の内容を見て参加者全員が興奮していた。冒険やロールプレイを愛する人々にとって大いなる追加となるだろう。エルフ族の追加は大変素晴らしいものであり、多くのプレイヤーが試してみようと考えている。
来週の木曜に公開ベータテストが開始されるし、他のアイテムが公開されていくそうだ。私自身が全てを把握できたわけではないが、Binkyは新しいアイテムの公開を確信していたようだ。
今回のフルクライアントは望めばダウンロード可能だし、望まなければパッチとして導入できるだろう。したがって皆さんがせねばならないのは29.99ドルを支払って新拡張を利用可能にする事だけだ。我々は公認ダウンロードサイトのひとつとなる予定だ。この件については「宝珠の守人」導入前に確認を取ろう。
過去、欧州といった米国以外の地域では同時に新パッケージを得られないという課題があり、彼らは疎外感を味わっていた。しかしながら今回はそのような事態に陥ることはなく、導入を前にアカウント更新コードは有効となるだろう。したがって誰もが同時に更新の機会を得、同時に新しい要素に触れる機会を得る事となるのです。今回の導入は非常に優れたものです！世界中の皆さんが平等に提供してくれるEA社に感謝しましょう！
私自身、今回の拡張版には大きな期待を寄せている。冒険や探索が大好きだからね。私の前に数多くの冒険が待ち構えていることに気づいているんだ。

We didn't really get to see much stuff that has not already been talked about. But we did see that there are many new areas to go adventuring. It's not just regular dungeons that have been added. There are some new areas that involve climbing through trees and such. There are also some really heavy hitting monsters that will kick your ass if you are all alone.
Tamers will be interested to know that many new animals will be available. They also talked about how some of the mounts will also be available in different hues. They also talked about how some of the monsters will require teamwork and will require tamers to help. I though it's pretty cool that they will be making tamers a requirement.
The new quest system looks pretty cool. Some of the new spells will not be purchasable.
You'll only be able to get them through quests.
Everyone at the event was very excited to see all of the content in the new expansion. It's going o be a great addition for people who like to adventure and also for people that like to role play. The addition of Elves to the game is pretty cool and many of the people are looking forward to trying them out.
So next Thursday we have the public beta. They are also releasing other items on Thursday. I'm not sure of exactly what all of the things are. But Binky was very sure that there would be new stuff available.
This new version will be downloadable if you need the full client. If you don't need a new client it will be patched to you. So All you'll need to do is to just purchase your upgrade code that will be available for $29.99. We expect to be one of the official download sites. We'll have confirmation on this before it is released.
In the past Europe and other non US countries have had issues with not being able to get the new version at the same time. They have felt left out. Well that won't be happening this time. The upgrade codes will be available before they release the new version. So everyone will have a chance to get upgraded and then the moment the new content is available everyone will be able to access it at the same time. This is very excellent! Thank you EA for making this release equal for everyone world wide.
I look forward to the new expansion. For me I like to adventure and explore. From the little bit I saw I'm going to have a lot of adventuring ahead of me.

EA社とMarkee Dragonとが主催する間近に迫ったイベントの第一報をお送りします。我々は6月30日(木)にオレゴン州ポートランドにおいてウルティマ オンラインタウンホールを開催します。これはMarkee Dragonスタッフとボランティアスタッフとが毎年開催している集会と同時開催であり、Markee Dragonのスタッフや幾人かの開発スタッフと出会う機会となるイブニングイベントです。
したがって、その日ポートランドへ行く事を忘れないようにカレンダーの6月30日(木)にチェックしておいて下さい。1週間程度で今回のイベントの詳細が明らかとなるでしょう。
This will be an evening event where you will be able to meet people from Markee Dragon and also some of the Dev team of Ultima Online.
